Are you visiting Amsterdam between mid-March and mid-May? Then you should definitely consider a visit to the Keukenhof Gardens. More than seven million flower bulbs are exhibited in the 32-hectare park, including more than 800 varieties of tulips. All flower bulbs are supplied by Dutch growers.
Of course there are tulips in all types and colors in the gardens, but there is much more to see. Hyacinths, daffodils, lilies and all kinds of other flowering bulbs are interspersed with ponds, a nature garden and a mill that is more than 100 years old. You can find inspiration for your own garden in the inspirational gardens and authentic tulips from the 16th and 17th centuries bloom in the historic garden. You can enjoy beautiful flower shows in various pavilions.
Tired of walking the more than 15 kilometers of hiking trails? Then rest while enjoying a snack and drink at one of the restaurants or take a trip along the bulb fields with the whisper boat.
Keukenhof Castle is located next to the Keukenhof Gardens. Various walking routes run through the estate, there are 15 national monuments and there is a restaurant. The castle is open to visit during Heritage Days and Castle Day.
At Keukenhof you can rent bicycles to cycle through the bulb fields around Keukenhof. Various cycling routes have been set out, ranging from 5 to 25 kilometers.
