The most luxurious and well-known shopping street in Amsterdam is the PC Hooftstraat. Here you will find many exclusive shops and haute couture. The PC Hooftstraat is located between the Vondelpark and the Museumplein and can therefore be perfectly combined with a visit to one of the museums. A little further south is the Beethovenstraat. In this pleasant shopping street you will find many luxury fashion shops, perfumeries and pastry shops. The 9 Streets are part of the Grachtengordel and are on the Unesco World Heritage List. It is one of the most famous places for shopping in Amsterdam and the prices in the vintage stores, gift shops and boutiques are accordingly. It is perhaps the most atmospheric shopping area in Amsterdam.
De Pijp district borders the south of the Grachtengordel and is a veritable collection of concept stores, trendy boutiques, beautiful furniture stores and unique gift shops. Gerard Doustraat and Utrechtstestraat in particular are highly recommended.
In the east of the city center is the Czaar Peterstraat. This street is not well known yet, but it is certainly a nice place for shopping in Amsterdam. There are nice coffee shops, art studios and exclusive gift shops. Many of the shops and products you will find there are unique and cannot be found anywhere else.
From Central Station you can walk both to the east and to the west into nice shopping streets. The Zeedijk runs from the station to the east towards the Nieuwmarkt. You can enjoy endless Asian food on this street, but there are also many unique shops that you will love. If you walk west from the station, you will come to Haarlemmerstraat and Haarlemmerdijk. These narrow streets are filled with a variety of unique shops to suit every budget.
Waterlooplein hosts a large flea market every day except Sunday. Here you will find the best second-hand treasures, vintage clothing, old records and books and much more. You will also find many nice vintage shops in De Pijp and the Nine Streets.
Opposite the Rijksmuseum is the Spiegelkwartier, a lovely old neighborhood full of art and antique shops. From paintings to chandeliers and from crockery to jewellery, you can find everything in the more than 70 specialist shops. In the Jordaan is the Antique Center Amsterdam, where 55 traders sell antiques, art, collectibles and curiosities.
Is it bad weather one day? Don't panic, there are nice covered shopping centers in Amsterdam. In the south of the city is the Gelderlandplein Shopping Mall, the largest indoor shopping center in Amsterdam. Here you will find luxury shops with clothing, jewelry, shoes, beauty products and home goods. Hungry from shopping? There are several nice cafes and restaurants in the mall. In the center of Amsterdam is Magna Plaza, a shopping center where you can buy mostly fashion, jewelry and makeup.
