Street art lovers can indulge themselves in Amsterdam. When you walk through the city you will see a great diversity of street art, from murals to the artworks of Street Art Frankey.
Amsterdam street art museum STRAAT is located at the NDSM-werf, a former shipyard in Amsterdam North. An 9500-square-yard old ship shed houses 150 works by street artists and graffiti artists. The artworks were created especially for the museum and they were created on site. You will find works by big international names and young talent. Guided tours are given on Saturdays and Sundays (also in English).
Street Art Museum Amsterdam (SAMA) is a museum for Amsterdam street art in the Amsterdam Nieuw-West district. The works of art in this museum do not hang inside a building, but they are made on the walls outside in the neighbourhood. The artworks were created by well-known international artists such as El Pez, Bastardilla and Stinkfish and local artists such as TeamBlazing, Bunny Brigade and NolArt. SAMA believes that everyone should be able to enjoy Amsterdam street art for free and therefore does not sell tickets. Instead, the museum offers two free routes along Amsterdam street art that can be downloaded from their website.
In the Moco Museum on Museumplein you can see an exhibition of the work of the best-known (and most mysterious) street artist in the world: Banksy. The exhibition 'Laugh Now' consists of authenticated works of art from the private collections of collectors. The exhibition includes Beanfield, Flower Thrower and Girl with balloon.
