In Oud-West is the beautiful old streetcar depot De Hallen. This piece of industrial heritage has been transformed into a hip location that houses eateries, shops, a cinema, a hotel, a library and much more. The Foodhallen Amsterdam is part of De Hallen and a true gathering place for Amsterdam food. De Hallen was built between 1901 and 1928 as a streetcar depot. After expansion, the storage of streetcars was moved to a depot in Amsterdam-Zuid. On February 5th, De Hallen has been re-opened as the Foodhallen where all the flavors of Amsterdam come together.
